Open Surgery Technique: This technique is the preferred option for hernia repair and is carried out under local anesthesia with sedation. in 1-3 weeks.

Laparoscopic Technique: It is a more advanced technique. It requires the administration of complete general anesthesia and the hernia is repaired from the inside with the help of advanced laparoscopic instruments, through a small cut at the place of the Hernia, where the abdomen is insufflated with gas (CO2), an Endoscope, and surgical instruments are inserted through small holes in the abdominal wall, then release the hernial sack away from the muscles of the abdominal wall, and finally close the defect in the muscles and support it with a mesh. The total time required for the surgery is about 50-60 minutes.
The laparoscopic technique is generally preferred by patients more than the open surgery method, it has a lower recovery time, less pain, a smaller scar, less trauma, and fewer complications in the short & long term.
