BREAST AUGMENTATION.

Augmentation means just increasing the size and pexy means lifting. Often when the breast has sagged down too much and the nipples have moved too low and face down, the only augmentation will not be enough and the breast will need a lift and repositioning of the nipple to a higher position.

Augmentation Mastopexy involves simultaneous implant placement and tissue rearrangement in the breast along with nipple elevation. There will be a circular or a semi-circular scar around the areola and in higher grades of ptosis a vertical scar running down from the areola. The scars around the nipple usually settle quite well, the vertical however will be visible and will need to be addressed according to skin type. Augmentation Mastopexy It may be carried out as a single-stage or a two-stage procedure. In a one-stage procedure, the breast implant placement and the breast lift is performed in the same session. Whereas in two staged procedures the breast lift or mastopexy is done as a first stage and implant placement is done after six months.
