MRI is:
- A safe, noninvasive, and radiation-free procedure.
- MR angiography (MRA) uses a powerful magnetic field to evaluate blood vessels and help identify abnormalities.
- Suitable for patients with kidney diseases, as it does not require iodinated CT contrast, which is contraindicated in these cases.
- Capable of producing time-of-flight images, allowing evaluation without intravenous contrast.
- Used to examine blood vessels in the brain, neck, chest, abdomen (including kidneys and liver), pelvis, legs, and arms.
- Effective in evaluating aneurysms, atherosclerotic plaques, stenosis, AV malformations, dissection, and peripheral vascular disease.
- Helpful in guiding interventional radiologists and surgeons in making repairs to diseased blood vessels.
The MRA service is available at DRHC in full capacity, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.
