Colposcopy is an out patient procedure to examine the uterine cervix and genital are under magnification to determine any abnormal cellular changes which can be a pre cancerous lesion, and to take a well localised biopsy before considering further curative steps. cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is mostly caused by HPV type 16-18.
