Adenoidectomy and grommets insertion is a simple day case procedure. This operation takes less than one hour, done under general anesthesia. The grommets mean a small temporary tube needs to be inserted in the eardrum for several months, and these tiny tubes will be gone by it selves after finishing its function (removing the fluids from the ear), and the eardrum will heal spontaneously.
