Nasal septum is a bony cartilaginous wall which divides the nasal cavity into two passages. Some times this will be deviated or dislocated to one side, so it will block the nose. The procedure for correction and re establishing the nasal breathing is named SEPTOPLASTY. This is about one hour operating procedure which is done under general anesthesia as day case procedure. This is mostly done simultaneously with reduction of the inferior turbinates by radio frequency. Nasal pack for 24 hours is needed in some cases. No external incision is required.
