Signs in babies

  • Isn't startled by loud noises.
  • Doesn't turn towards the source of a sound by four months of age.
  • Doesn't say a single word by the age of one.
  • Does not respond to their name being called.
  • Responds to some sounds but not others.

Signs in children

  • Is slow to learn to talk or unclear speech.
  • Asks you to repeat or respond inappropriately to a question.
  • Doesn't respond on name calling.
  • Talks very loudly.
  • Often turns up the volume of the TV so it's very loud.
  • Imitates others to understand when verbal instructions are given.
