Stem cells are able to repair and rejuvenate body tissues by producing specific mediators and by the ability of transformation into different type of specialized cells to re build a new tissues.
We use autologous adult stem cells harvested from fat tissue, where the stem cells come from the same person receiving treatment which will make more effective and with less chance of incompatibility.
The stem cells are harvested from the patient’s tissue (mainly fat) through a mini-liposuction procedure.
This is carried out usually from the abdomen or the flank under local anaesthesia. this is a minimally invasive procedure with no down time.
The advanced laboratory technique will allow separation of the extracted stem cells which are then go into a process of activation and culture for multiplication allowing large amount of cells being available to provide the targeted treatment.
The stem cells extract then go into a process of special sterilization to exclude the infection risk and then can be used either directly in to the joint or via IV administration.
On some occasions minor general side effects such as headache and nausea can be observed which usually settle within 24 hours with no other significant side effects. The local side effects from the mini liposuction site such as minor swelling, bruises and infection is expected with no other significant complication.
